When should you exercise?

EVERY DAY!

I know, I know - but really. You should exercise when you want to feel good. As human, we are designed to move. Our bodies are intricate machines built to thrive in constant motion. Yet, in today's sedentary world, it's easy to forget the importance of regular movement. When we sit too long, our body gets sticky and tight. We find ourselves entangled in the web of comfort, sitting in chairs for extended periods, and neglecting foundation need to be in motion.

But we have the power to change that. With intentional, planned movement - we can optimize your health, and reach the goals that you want to reach - while unlocking the power of your inner warrior.

Movement doesn’t have to be super intense to be effective. In fact, it is better if it isn’t! We will design a plan for how intensely you should move while also balancing the importance of recovery. I call this the 4 day wave, and we will get more into that when we chat. Until then - here are my thoughts on movement!

Internal movement impacts your body on the cellular level

Going through the motions isn't enough. Showing up to the gym and counting the minutes while your mind drifts. It isn’t enough. When we move with purpose, present in the moment - it becomes a form of self-expression, a celebration of our bodies and all they are capable of achieving. Whether it's a in a high intensity day or a low intensity day, intentional movement teaches you to connect with you body, feel the power of your muscles, the stability of your core, and the strength of your foundation. From a physiological perspective - Daily movement helps with all of the below:

1. Physical Health:. It improves cardiovascular health, strengthens muscles, and enhances joint flexibility. Regular exercise also aids in weight management, reduces the risk of chronic diseases, and boosts our immune system.
2. Mental Clarity: Movement doesn’t just help the body; it has a profound impact on your mind. It releases endorphins, the so-called "feel-good hormones" that elevate mood, reduce stress, and combat anxiety and depression. Daily movement provides mental clarity, increases creativity, and helps us better manage daily challenges.
3. Energy and Productivity: Contrary to what one might think, expending energy through movement replenishes and invigorates us. With increased blood circulation and improved oxygen supply to the brain, movement stimulates our energy levels, boosts productivity, and enhances mental focus. By integrating movement into our day, we become more efficient and unstoppable in achieving our goals.

Variety of movement in your toolbox is necessary

Remember that our bodies were not meant to be confined to desks and chairs all day long. We evolved from ancestors that spent their days hunting, gathering, and in constant movement. It is within our cells to be active, to explore, and to conquer. Your warrior spirit is still in there, ready for you. As you work to shift your perspective on movement and honor that spirit within - you will learn to embody your warrior through your daily life.
1. At work: While we can’t always avoid technology, chairs and desks - we can change our habits. Incorporate regular stretch breaks, take walks during lunchtime, or reattach options for standing or adjustable desks. Even just 5-20 minutes as often as possible will vastly change your perspective, producticey and routine during your work day
2. Embrace Variety: Like Steel Mace Vinyasa, movement can be a fusion of lots of things. And it should never be monotonous or limited. Find something that intrigues you, and try it with an open mind! Engage in cardiovascular exercise such as running, dancing, or biking for a healthy heart. Strengthen your muscles with Steel Mace Vinyasa, heavy club work, kettle bells, or Pilates. Explore the beauty of nature with hiking or swimming. By having a variety of movements available, we can intentionally tap into each style for your training plan.
3. Find Joy in Moving: Moving every day should not be dreadful. It should never feel like a chore or a burden, but something that brings you joy, relief, and openness. Discover activities that resonate with you and bring you happiness. It could be doing some vinyasa flows, flowing with your mace and no plan, practicing martial arts, dancing. We will find space for all of your movements in your training plan!

Move when you want to feel good

In a world that prioritizes sedentary behavior, it's time to remember that you feel better when you move. It’s that simple. There will never be a workout that you regret doing, even if it was hard to begin. Nurture your inner warrior, your physical body, and your strong mind through movement. Get up, move, evolve, and meet your warrior.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of movement is that it doesn’t matter what you are doing - as long as you are doing it! Trust yourself. You can do this.
